This fun-loving, motorbike enthusiast, is now the Property Manager at Open Home Online for the Bellingen Shire. With 12 years of Property Management experience, Anne Stuart knows her stuff. Three years ago Anne relocated to our region for work, but has now “fallen in love with the people, the culture and the food- not necessarily in that order.” Rod caught up with Anne this week to find out what makes her tick.
What makes you a great Property Manager?
Because I like the structure and boundaries set out by legislation and yet- life is full of grey areas. I like the challenge of navigating them together.
What do you like best about the Bellingen Shire?
It’s the vibe, the culture and the history.
Tell me about your love of small motorbikes?
I find that with motor bikes as in life, its not what you have- its how you use it!
Your best memory of childhood was?
Always being outside playing with animals.
Your best sporting moment was?
When I was in year 12 and doing my HSC the Melbourne cup was running. I was too young to place a bet so I got the taxi driver to place my money on the nose of Let’s Elope.
I finished my exam and went home thinking nothing more. At 4.30 pm a Taxi turned up at my front door.
Mr Hughs was so excited that we had won.
My mum heard us talking and as quick as a flash she was there asking what was going on.
Mr Hughs told mum the story and pulled out an envelope with the money.
My mother clipped us both over the ear and took the money.
To this day I don’t know how much I won.
What would you like to be remembered for?
For being a kind and fair person to people and animals
What are you reading right now?
Fifty Shades of Real Estate.
What are you listening to right now?
What really annoys you?
People on their phone, when I am talking to them. Be engaged in the moment people.
The best lesson your parents taught you?
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. You learn how to fix them and how to prevent them.
Describe a funny memory.
I stayed up all night to buy U2 tickets and at 2am I thought I had them. When the tickets arrived in the mail they were tickets to UB40.
What project are you currently working on?
I am working on getting my full Real Estate licence and Strata licence.
How do you relax?
Take my two Miniature Schnauzers for a walk on the beach, bush walking, overseas travel, cooking and eating
Favourite restaurant in the Shire?
What you want me to pick just one. That’s cold!
The previous career you wish you could forget?
Pole dancing, just kidding I am scared of heights.
Favourite holiday destination & why?
Anywhere and everywhere. I have been to 34 Countries around the world. I can always find things to enjoy wherever I go.
In the Movie Annegate, who would play you?
I think a movie about me would be more like Annageddon. Jack Black would be the star because I am constantly saying and doing cringe-worthy things.
Don’t miss the opportunity to read previous Backchats with our fabulous locals.
