Hooley Dooley, it’s a weird time to be alive. Here we are, in the midst of a global pandemic, still able to enjoy events like The Bellingen Show without too much concern over picking up that nasty virus going around. *Snaps for Australia’s pandemic response*.
I’m sure you all would’ve seen this one coming from a mile away – but for your health and safety, The Show is going to look a little different this year, starting with the purchasing of your tickets.
I sat down with The Bellingen Show Gate Co-ordinator Susan Lumsdaine (pictured above) to go over all the how, what, when, where, and why’s of the changes in the ticketing system this year…..
“As a part of our Covid Safety Plan, we decided to go with online ticketing to reduce cash handling and protect our volunteers and patrons – and hopefully streamline getting through the gates! We are working with 123Tix – a company based in Dubbo, which has significant experience with, and is very supportive of agricultural shows around New South Wales.”
“There will be no cash at the gates this year, we really want to encourage people to pre-purchase their tickets online, but there will be an option for contactless payment at the gates on show days. If you’re daunted by purchasing your tickets online, you can pop into the secretary’s office at the Showground every Wednesday from the 7thof April from 1-4pm and we’ll help you purchase your ticket there. In the week leading up to the show (Monday the 3rdof May to Friday the 7thof May) we will be on site from 9am-4pm every day. Alternatively, you can call the secretary on 0489 483 915 if you have any questions or concerns.”
“Life members get a free weekend pass! All they have to do is come into the secretary’s office before the show to pick it up. Show Society Members also get a free weekend pass, this will be sent to their nominated email address! Volunteers get a free day pass for the day they’re volunteering.”
Chief Horse Steward and Ringmaster Elaine Leader has also ensured that all stabling and camping options are available for purchase online, with the Stable Plan available on the 123Tix website. (Please note that camping is only available for those entering into the horse programs.) All enquiries about this area of The Show should go directly to Elaine on 042 8388 594 or Tim on 0427 551 653.
This year, all horse event entries will also be done online. Head over to The Show’s website for further information and to download your entry forms.
To encourage pre-purchasing, it will be cheaper to buy tickets online than at the gates. To see pricing and purchase go to https://www.123tix.com.au/events/15446/belling, or visit https://www.bellingenshow.com.au/for further information about The Show.
